The Tertiary Oil Recovery Project (TORP) held its 30th anniversary dinner on April 23, 2004, at the Dole Institute of Politics at the University of Kansas. Invited guests included TORP staff and students (past and present), Chemical and Petroleum Engineering faculty and staff, university administrators, members of the TORP Advisory Board and oil operators with whom TORP has interacted. During the reception preceding the dinner, Chancellor Robert Hemenway and Dean of the Engineering School Stuart Bell presented Don Green and Paul Willhite, co-directors and founders of TORP, plaques in recognition of their service. More than 150 people attended the anniversary celebration. The program consisted of presentations by Green and Willhite, in which the history and activities over the years were described.
